The Many Looks of Oscars Hostess Anne Hathaway
The best thing about a female awards show host is all the wardrobe changes. Sarah Jessica Parker wore 14 different outfits during the 2000 MTV Movie Awards, and last night Anne Hathaway went through a total of eight, including her red carpet and afterparty gowns . Here they all are:
Anne had a special Valentino Couture dress for the red carpet, before the show started. I typically don't like red on the red carpet, either because it clashes or matches too well, but this is for the most part fine. I do wish she'd matched her lipstick, though.
First of the night, a totally gorgeous Givenchy Haute Couture gown. I don't even mind the beading!
Looking cute and classy in a Lanvin tux and the best heels I have ever seen. (They're custom-made by Brian Atwood!)
A Vivienne Westwood number... not my fave. It looks like it came from Helena Bonham Carter's closet and washer her out like crazy.
Shaking her thang in a metallic fringy Oscar De La Renta.
This Armani Prive is a great color, but the material is just... off. I don't know if it's the lighting or what, but it looks like plastic vinyl.
This Tom Ford number was her final dress as co-host, and it appears to be inspired by the old show Dynasty.
She wrapped up the night in another, much better red dress, this one also a Valentino. The detailing looks a little rubbery, but I dig it.
